Traffic Control Superintendent: Mark Miesse
The Traffic Control Division is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of all traffic control devices on the City streets.
The division maintains 134 signalized intersections, and over 15,000 traffic related and street name signs. Traffic Control is also responsible for pavement markings such as centerlines, lane lines, RR crossing, school zone street markings, and over 260 crosswalks within the City. There are more than 235 arrow/turn only symbols maintained by the City.
Traffic Control is responsible for in-house fabrication of all traffic control signs, vehicle decals and informational signs needed by the various departments within the City.
Numerous street banners displayed throughout the downtown are hung and maintained by the Traffic Control Division. Requests for different banners to celebrate public occasions can be made through the Clerk of Commission at (937) 324-7741.
The Traffic Control Division is also involved in removing graffiti from City property.
The Traffic Control Division plays a large part in decorating trees in the downtown area for the City's annual Holiday in the City celebration.
